Shortly before the French Open begins in Paris, Novak Djokovic reaches for a special title. The recently weak Serb moved into the final through a 6: 4, 6: 7 (6: 8), 6: 1 over the British Cameron Norrie in Geneva – only a victory over the Poland Hubert Hurkacz lacks the 38 -year -old tennis star from Serbia for his 100th tournament victory.

For Djokovic, it is the third final chance to be included in the elite 100 club. After his Olympic triumph in Paris in Paris, the Grand Slam record champion in Shanghai and Miami reached the final, it was not enough. So far, only Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) have won more than 100 tournaments.

After a disappointing sandplace season, Djokovic had accepted a wildcard in Switzerland to get shape in front of the French Open, which started on Sunday. So far, the plan has opened: Djokovic lost his first set in the tournament course against Norrie, but prevailed after 2:14 hours. Hurkacz had previously beat the Austrian Sebastian Ofner 6: 3, 6: 4.

At the Grand Slam Highlight in Paris, Djokovic will meet Mackenzie McDonald (USA) in the first round at the beginning of next week.
