Ribes de Freser is a charming town located in the heart of the Vall de Ribes, in the Ripollès region, under the imposing mountains of the Pyrenees. The circular route leads to Bruguera, passing through the Cortals del Pellisser and descending to the Montagut spa, and is an interesting option for mountaineering lovers. With a distance of approximately 17.2 kilometers and a positive difference in altitude of 741 meters, it offers a route of moderate difficulty with beautiful views of the Catalan Pyrenees.
The hike begins in Ribes de Freser and follows a path that ascends to Coll del Manter, passing through the bunkers of the Set Fortins, anti-aircraft bases dating from the Civil War. From Plans de Conivella, at an altitude of 1,425 metres, leave the main path that leads to Taga to head towards Bruguera, a small town near Ribes de Freser.
Bruguera stands out for its pleasant atmosphere, without developments that disturb the natural environment and the panoramic views. However, the paving of the road in Coll de Jou has considerably increased vehicle traffic on weekends, which can be a disadvantage for the route. The tracks and asphalt are the only part of the route that does not fully conform to the rich, mountainous environment that the circular route offers.
