The swimmer that was sought in the radioplasses in Stevensbeek on Saturday evening is a 39-year-old man from Poland. The police report this on Sunday afternoon. The man’s body was found on Sunday morning during a search with a sonar boat.
The man went swimming on his own on Saturday, but halfway through the lake he got into trouble. He still called for help and a group of Romanians tried to save him. That didn’t work. The police were alerted and a large search was set up. Around midnight the swimmer was not yet found and the search was stopped.
On Sunday the search continued and after hours the body was found in the water eight meters deep. Divers have taken the body out of the water. The police confirm on Sunday afternoon that it is the 39-year-old Pole.
