Oscar-winning director and screenwriter Robert Benton Has died at home in the United States, reports AFP. He was 92 when he died.
The New York Times says Benton’s dead on Sunday.
Benton was known especially for the 1979 Kramer vs. Kramer, one of the most rewarded films of his time. Benton was also second to five of the screenwriters of Bonnie and Clyde, who received Oscar.
Despite his success, Benton was known as a modest director.
– There are directors who know how to get the actors out of the actors. I’m not one of them, Benton once said according to AFP.
The Times says that Benton will miss his son John. Benton was married for six decades with his wife who died in 2023.
