After CFO Christian Sailer was said to have been dismissed by the owners, another farewell to Galeria is apparently imminent. The department store group apparently has to say goodbye to Stefan Grundel, Director of Controlling and Treasury.
Grundel took over the position last spring, succeeding Florian Mellert, who held the position for around one and a half years. According to the industry magazine Textilwirtschaft, Gründer has now resigned.
For Grundel, joining Galeria last spring meant a return. He worked for the company in various roles from 2008 to 2019. After less than a year, he is now set to resign from office again. This makes him the second controller in a short period of time to stay with the group for less than two years.
Despite his departure, Grundel will remain with the company until an orderly transition is ensured. In the future, he will devote more time to his family and tasks outside of traditional retail, reports the industry magazine.
Galeria has not yet responded to a request from FashionUnited.
