Trailer with a documentary character

Although Diddy released the record LAST TRAIN TO PARIS together with Dirty Money in 2012, it has been 17 years since his last real solo project PRESS PLAY (2006). Now, on Tuesday (22 August), Diddy shared a trailer for his new album THE LOVE ALBUM: OFF THE GRID, which will be released through his own label Love Records. Although the 53-year-old has repeatedly released singles in recent years, Diddy has primarily focused on other business strands. The musician also seems to be aware that his last major project was several years ago. So he opened the trailer with the question:

“Why do I do this? Especially given the success I’ve had and the stressful and treacherous music industry…”

On the Instagram post, Diddy linked Justin Bieber, Swae Lee, Mary J. Blige, Babyface, Teyana Taylor, The Weeknd, French Montana, DJ Khaled and 21 Savage, among others – some of whom can also be seen in the video. Justin Bieber and Mary J. Blige step up to the studio mic with Diddy, leading to speculation as to whether the tags could be references to guest contributions on the album. So far, however, there has been no official confirmation of this theory.

Diddy released his single “Gotta Move On” with Bryson Tiller last year after a seven-year musical hiatus. The track deals with a painful separation and the associated new beginning.
