For years, Peter Lustig, the presenter who stood in front of the camera for the children’s show “Dandelion” and made everyday life easy to understand for young people, had a bad rumor for years – the TV uncle supposedly didn’t like children at all.
In 2002, Lustig, who died in 2016, told the “Stuttgarter Zeitung”: “Children are annoying and sticky, so what?” The “PICTURE on SUNDAY” then asked the dungarees wearer – he explained his statement by saying that children are tiring. This is how the rumor arose that Peter Lustig didn’t have much use for his little viewers.
Peter Lustig didn’t care about his image
All nonsense! Lustig just wanted to say that he didn’t like having children around him while he was working. “They should watch the show and have fun.” While Germany saw the image of the dear child uncle in danger, Peter Lustig simply acted as he actually is.
Lustig had a son and also looked after the three daughters of his third wife Astrid.
