As of: October 14, 2025 12:55 p.m

National coach Christian Wück announced his squad for the upcoming Final Four in the Women’s Europa League on Tuesday. Goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger is out injured. In addition to proven players and four returning players, there are also three new players.

Captain Giulia Gwinn, midfielder Lena Oberdorf (both FC Bayern Munich) and central defender Bibiane Schulze Solano (Athletic Bilbao) are back after a long injury break. Nicole Anyomi (Eintracht Frankfurt) is also back in the squad.

Goalkeeper Laura Dick from TSG Hoffenheim, defender Camilla Küver from VfL Wolfsburg and attacker Shekiera Martinez from West Ham United can all hope to make their debut.

We are really looking forward to the two semi-final games against France. Both games are a big task in terms of sport.

The DFB women qualified for the final tournament as group winners of their preliminary group. As in the European Championship quarter-finals in Switzerland, the opponent is France again. First, the Germans have a home game in Düsseldorf on October 24th (5:45 p.m./live on Sportschau). The decision as to who will advance to the final will be made on October 28th in Caen.

Goalkeeper Berger is missing injured

Wück will have to do without goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger. The 35-year-old from US club Gotham FC is missing due to a knee injury, as the German Football Association announced.

Linda Dallmann was not included in the summer tournament squad; the Munich native is only available on call. Attacker Giovanna Hoffmann from RB Leipzig is missing after tearing her cruciate ligament. Wolfsburg’s Sophia Kleinherne (thigh) and Turid Knaak from Manchester City (meniscus) are also missing. Sara Däbritz ended her career after the European Championships.

“We had to make some changes to the squad due to injuries, which also offers the opportunity for new players to prove themselves at the highest level,” said Wück. “We will have to combine all our strengths against France.”

Players will meet on October 20th

The players will meet on October 20th in Düsseldorf – where a women’s international match will take place for the first time. Around 33,000 tickets have already been sold for the game. On the morning of the day before the second leg, the entourage will travel to the port city and capital of the Calvados department in Normandy, northern France. The final training session will also take place in the evening at the Stade Michel-d’Ornano.

Last game of the year in Kaiserslautern

Spain and Sweden face each other in the second semi-final. The European champions from England missed qualifying for the Final Four in the group with the Spanish.

Whether the German players prevail against France or not – there are still two games waiting. The final or the duel for third place will also be decided in the return leg.

And it is already clear that Germany would once again have a home game first. The DFB will play this game on November 28th in Kaiserslautern. The second leg will take place on December 2nd.

Sara Däbritz was the last German player from the victorious 2016 Olympic final to end her career in the national soccer team.
