As an athlete, Sara Doorsoun knows success and failures. But she also experienced ups and downs privately-in the form of a relationship with a well-known ex-girlfriend.

Sara Doorsoun is one of the most famous faces at the DFB women. The 1.72 -meter -tall defender of Eintracht Frankfurt has established itself in the national team with a consistently strong performance for years. She was also the focus away from the square-because of her earlier relationship with reality TV winner Louise Schaaf. A connection that has received a lot of attention in the media but has now ended.

The love between the national player and the first “Princess Charming” winner made positive headlines in the summer of 2021. They had made their relationship public in August-with common Instagram pictures on which they showed themselves as a couple. A few months earlier, Louise Schaaf had won the final of the RTL dome show “Princess Charming” without making a steady relationship with the “Princess” Irina hose. It was the Cologne native Sara Doorsoun who won her heart.

DoorSoun became known for her switch to VfL Wolfsburg in 2018. There she won two German championships before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt in early 2022. It was also a fixture in the DFB team’s jersey-for the first time nominated in 2016 and took part in several EM and World Cup tournaments. At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, she won bronze with the German team. The 33-year-old, who has also completed a degree in social work, is considered a fashion fan and style in the team. Her passion for sneakers and tattoos was made public by teammate Lena Oberdorf.

While her sporting career progressed continuously, it had recently become calmer privately. At the end of 2022, fans began to speculate: Common pictures of Doorsoun and Schaaf on Instagram suddenly disappeared, an emotional New Year’s post indicated personal upheavals. “2022 was definitely a roller coaster ride of feelings. Both sporty and privately,” DOORSOUN wrote at the time – and only mentioned her dog as part of her “pack”.

The official confirmation followed in 2023 in the ZDF documentary “Born for this: Light and Shadow”. In it, Doorsoun spoke openly about the separation of Schaaf. “We separated at the end of November. Separations take place, are never beautiful, do it,” she said, and was visibly touched: “If I just heard on my heart, I noticed: Boa, I am not doing so well.” Tears flowed when she admitted that she hardly had time to process the separation. She described the months afterwards as particularly difficult – a time of inner struggle.
