Rebecca Knaak only moved to Manchester in January. Now the national player has made an important decision for her future.
Rebecca Knaak has extended her contract with Manchester City for another two years. The 29-year-old defender will remain with the club until the summer of 2028.
“I’m very happy to stay here,” said Knaak about her contract extension. “It’s the club I love and want to be successful at and I’m really looking forward to being here for another two years.”
City Manager Therese Sjögran praised Knaak’s attitude as “first class.” Accordingly, it is “no surprise how well she has settled in here, and her successes with Germany are just the reward for all the efforts she puts in on and off the pitch.”
Knaak came to England from Sweden’s FC Rosengard in January 2025. Since moving to City, the defensive specialist has played 16 games and scored five goals. She made her debut with the German senior national team in February, shortly after her transfer to Manchester. With the DFB team she reached the semi-finals of the European Championship in the summer and was in the final of the Nations League against Spain.
