The soccer players from Eintracht Frankfurt surprisingly missed out on the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup against RB Leipzig.
Bundesliga second Eintracht Frankfurt lost the round of 16 at second division RB Leipzig on Saturday (11/19/2022) 1-2 (1-0). It is the second setback for Eintracht this season. The Frankfurt women failed to qualify for the Champions League at Ajax Amsterdam in August.
“They did well, we didn’t. We didn’t reach our maximum, so that’s not enough in the cup. We knew they were good and we should have played better.”said Frankfurt national player Laura Freigang.
Müller turns the game
Slovenian international Lara Prasnikar (16th) brought Eintracht into the lead. Marlene Müller (55th/87th) turned the game around with her brace in the second half.
“Awesome, we’ve been looking forward to that. In the second half we got chances, took them and got it over with.”said match winner Müller: “Maybe we can knock out the next opponent in the quarter-finals.”
