First Union Berlin, then Freiburg – and now Bremen: Third division Arminia Bielefeld has sensationally achieved the semi -finals in the DFB Cup with the third victory over a Bundesliga club. The Arminen won 2-1 (2: 0) on the home Alm and enlarged the crisis of Werder Bremen, which is currently sticking to the heel a lot of bad luck.

As with the game in Freiburg, when André Silva missed a penalty for Bremen and Werder then completely broke apart, this time the Hanseates losing the version.

Ducksch injury meets Werder hard

After playmaker Marvin Duksch had to get off the pitch with an adductor injury after a played half hour, it only took five minutes for a Werder Bremen to concede the first goal.

Until then, the hosts had kept along well against the Bundesliga club, didn’t allow much to be approved defensively, but at the same time could not create a chance.

Arminia’s great effort is rewarded

Bielefeld, aggressively hired by Coach Mitch Kniat against the recently little self -confidence, pressed high against the Bremen game structure with a lot of runners. And that was rewarded shortly after the replacement of Werder’s best template provider. Marius Wörl lies the ball off the ball and completed the ball with a remarkable Schlenzer on the right into the angle (35th).

Bremen’s coach Ole Werner looked at the field from the field of playing field: his team, which he strongly criticized after the 0: 5 clap, tried to build a calm game, often acted with long balls from his own half and worked only minimally dangerous offensive opportunities.

Malatini with unfortunate Appearance

A little later, the unfortunate Malatini was back in the center of the action: With the tailwind of the tour, the East Westphalia had plenty of space on the right against raised Bremen. The hardworking Stefano Russo sprinted forward sharply into the middle on the coached and at least as busy Joel Felix. Malatini tried to prevent the pass, but transformed the pass into an arch lamp that was simply not to be defended. The Arminia led 2-0 after 35 minutes – and the fans sensed the next cup sensation of the third division club.

Werner brings a breath of fresh air after the break

Ole Werner continued to change his offensive on the break: Leonardo Bittencourt and Oliver Burke came for the hapless André Silva (a long -range shot) and the pale Marco Grüll – and the Bremen pressure suddenly got huge.

At first Arminen goalkeeper Kersken was able to clarify Njinmah, who had run alone on the goal of the home side (48th) – the keeper simply grabbed the ball from the attacker’s foot. But only a few seconds after Kniat reacted to the stronger Bremen and changed Uldrikis, that laten caused the connecting goal.

Bittencourt injected into a too weak back pass Uldriki, put across Burke, who shot down 1: 2 from the penalty point (56.). At the latest now it was clear: Werder Bremen took the impending defeat.

Lannert missed 3: 1 – and Njinmah the equalization

And Bielefeld? It reacted calmly and kept lurking to his chances. Exactly such a one offered in return after the goal: the young Wörl used the co -stepped up Christopher Lannert a little too imprecisely, Zetterer in the box of the Werderans was able to prevent the third Bielefeld goal.

The game remained worth seeing and open. Bielefeld Knapp led, Bremen kept his nerves – and how! Because when it was played for an hour, the ball landed on the penalty area after a slightly crashed defense against the agile Bielefeld captain Mael Corboz near Njinmah, the conclusion of which only missed the goal of the Arminen. Substitute Uldrikis injured a short time later and had to be brought off the pitch with the stretcher.

Kersken risks head and collar – Werder risks everything

Werder continued to work on ideas for compensation – but really a lot of sparkling should not succeed. But the guests remain dangerous. After a long ball on the starting Burke, Kersken fell out of his penalty area and was touched with the head of Burke in his defense campaign. The keeper had to be treated, but could continue.

Bremen didn’t give up. The seven -minute stoppage time had already started when Amos Pieper came to the header from a short distance, but only the crossbar hit. Weiser was also not lucky when, after a free kick from the right half field, his shot from a half -right position narrowly missed the gate. Added time passed – and Bielelfeld cheered the first cup semi -final catchment in ten years.
