The second main round in the DFB Cup will be drawn in Dortmund on August 31. The most important information is available here.
When exactly is the draw?
The lots are drawn live as part of the sports show (starting at 7 p.m.). The draw takes place in the German Football Museum in Dortmund.
How is drawing?
A total of 32 clubs will be there. There are two solder pots: In one, the teams from the Bundesliga and the 2nd Bundesliga are one. In the other all clubs from the leagues below.
With every encounter, a lot is always pulled out of the “amateur pot”. If this pot is empty, all other encounters are pulled from the “profitopf”.

Why are two games missing at the weekend?
The games of the 1st main round will be held again on two separate appointments. The majority of the games take place from August 15th to 18th. Because the Supercup between Bayern Munich and VfB Stuttgart will be played on the same weekend, these two clubs only carry their first -round games on 26/27. August 2025.
Again and again fan scenes protested against the division of the cup weekend. In the previous year, the organized fan scenes from Leverkusen and Stuttgart boycotted the game.

How much money can the clubs take?
The DFB has increased the premiums in the DFB Cup slightly compared to the pre-season. Anyone who reaches the 2nd main round has 635,658 euros. Anyone who wins the trophy will cut almost eleven million euros.

What can the clubs also achieve?
The winner of the DFB Cup, according to the European Cup reform of the UEFA, which has been in place since the 2024/25 season League.
The DFB Cup winner is already through the Bundesliga for the Champions League Or the Europe League Qualified, the place goes to the Bundesliga, where it is then distributed according to the final table. The inferior finalist of the DFB Cup final can never benefit.
