Designer Charles de Vilmorin leaves Rochas

Designer Charles de Vilmorin leaves Rochas.

The creative director’s contract expired on March 31, the French fashion house announced on Monday. Rochas does not extend the contract.

“We would like to thank Charles de Vilmorin for his contribution to the Rochas legacy,” said Philippe Benacin, CEO of Rochas parent company Interparfums SA. “His creative vision will have a lasting impact on the brand’s universe.”

De Vilmorin served in that position for just over two years. He was appointed creative director in February 2021after the then 24-year-old made his debut during Paris Haute Couture week a month earlier.

A successor for the role of creative director is not yet known. Information leaked to trade magazine WWD suggests Rochas could transform the creative direction of the brand. Recently, several fashion houses have entrusted creative leadership to internal teams rather than hiring an outside creative director.
