What doesn’t have space on the agenda simply doesn’t happen.
We tend to explain it as “procrastination”, but in many cases the explanation is more complex and deeper. Procrastination may be just a symptom of a larger misalignment: our lack of internal coherence. We declare goals from the demand, from what we believe that “we should“achieve. But a part of us—sometimes undeclared—is not committed to that destiny. This tension between wanting and not wanting generates frustration, emotional exhaustion, and a feeling of inadequacy that erodes self-esteem.
The central question, then, is not why we are not moving forward, but what is truly at stake behind the goal. Do we really want to achieve it? Is it ours, or is it a goal inherited, imposed, or built to please and fit in? Is there a fear that we do not name, a doubt that hides under the demand? When we do not explore these dimensions, the goal becomes an empty mandate, and the agenda ends up being the mirror of that lack of conviction.
Coherence—one of the pillars of Ontological Coaching—is expressed in the alignment between what we declare, what we do and what we truly want. When that alignment exists, the agenda stops being an enemy and becomes an ally. Time, far from being an excuse, becomes a territory of action.
If the motives are authentic and the goal is valid for our own path, we need to give it concrete existence: space on the agenda, specific actions, moments reserved for its progress. Goals are not achieved by aspiration; They are done by practice, by presence, by conscious discipline.
I invite you to reflect honestly and without judgment: are our goals supported by real reasons? Or are we demanding results that are not born from a genuine desire? When the answer is clear, the path is also clear. And only then does the demand become an impulse and not a weight.
