The losing streak of FC Bayern Munich’s basketball players in the EuroLeague continues: The German champions lost out to Partizan Belgrade with 85:92 (43:36), thus suffering their fifth defeat in a row in the European Cup.

After all, Munich head coach Gordon Herbert was back on the sidelines after recovering from illness for the first time since November 9th and missing six games.

Partizan fans protest against Coach dismissal

Bayern played in an unusual atmosphere in the first half: after the resignation last week of Belgrade head coach Zeljko Obradovic, who is adored by Partizan fans, the home team’s supporters sang Obradovic’s name at the beginning and did not celebrate any of their team’s actions.

Instead, some players who scored were even booed. Bayern lost track again after the break. After the break, the hosts were supported again by their own fans, and Partizan took the lead midway through the third quarter.

Spencer Dinwiddie brought the guests back – but with 83 seconds left, Belgrade was once again ahead by double digits. Dinwiddie (25 points) and Vladimir Lucic (17) scored the most points for Bayern. The best Munich player was Johannes Voigtmann, who had ten points, 18 rebounds and seven assists and kept the game moving quickly.
