Cup sensation in Dresden! After a 93 goal spectacle and two extensions, Elbflorence prevails against HSV Hamburg and moves into the next round.
Second division HC Elbflorenz accomplished a real sensation in the cup and conquered the Bundesliga club HSV Hamburg in a dramatic game after two extension with 47:46 (15:16, 35:35, 40:40).
No Class difference recognizable
From the beginning, a highly intensive duel developed that was characterized by speed, offensive power and constant leadership changes. Both teams searched the direct path to the goal – after seven minutes it was already 5: 5. Hamburg worked out slight advantages in the middle of the first round (10:12, 18th), but the hosts found answers again and again and came back until shortly before the change of sides (14:14, 25). At the break, the HSV was still just ahead.

Seidler saves Dresden into the extension
In the second round, too, there was an exchange of blows at a high level, a class difference could not be identified. Oliver Seidler and Sebastian Greß turned the game in favor of the second division club (18:17, 33rd), in which Marino Mallwitz was now increasingly characterized with parades. However, it was not a grateful game for the two keepers: seven parades of Mallwitz faced nine of his colleague Mohamed el-Tayar. And so both teams marched towards the end, worn by their offensive series. The HSV looked like the safe winner 30 seconds before the end (35:34, 60th). But after an offensive foul by the Hanseatic, it was a Seidler who achieved equalization eight seconds before the end.
Decision after 80 minutes
The first extension again did not produce a winner – a second one had to come before the game could have ended in seven -meter throwing. And when most of the spectators seemed to be prepared after almost 80 minutes, it was Dresden’s top scorer Timo Löser, who with his ninth goal in literally pushing the last second and brought the 1,723 fans in the ball sport.
