Davies advisor comments on rumors about a move to Real Madrid

The agent of Bayern star Alphonso Davies has denied reports that his protégé has left FC Bayern and has already internally joined Real Madrid.

“That’s not correct. Phonzy is at Bayern Munich at the moment, that’s where his focus is,” said Nedal Hoseh to Munich’s “tz”. The Spanish sports newspaper “Marca” had previously reported that Davies had refused to extend his contract with Bayern, which runs until 2025. The Canadian only thinks “in white,” the paper alluded to the color of Real Madrid.

Real want to either make an advance on Davies next summer or sign him on a free transfer in 2025 after his contract ends in Munich. Then Ferland Mendy’s contract with the Royals expires. Davies could take over the 28-year-old Frenchman’s squad spot.

Davies had probably largely negotiated an extension of his contract with the old Bayern leadership around sports director Hasan Salihamidzic, who was fired in May, in the spring. However, since the expulsion of Salihamidzic and Oliver Kahn, there is said to be radio silence between the full-back and Bayern.

FC Bayern wants to extend with Davies

Now there is apparently movement in the Davies case on Säbener Straße. According to “tz”, the Munich team wants to extend the contract with Davies.

The 22-year-old has become “one of the world’s best defenders” at Bayern. Of course we want to keep him – and I hope he wants that too,” said President Herbert Hainer recently at the club’s annual general meeting.

Davies came to FC Bayern from the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019. He has since played 117 league games for the record champions and scored six goals. Davies won the German championship five times with Bayern, the DFB Cup twice and the Champions League once. In the 2019/20 triple season he was placed under Hansi Flick.
