Travel anger for darts referee Kirk Bevins and James Wade: Both wanted to go back to England from Germany at the weekend. While the referee desperate on Deutsche Bahn, “The Machine” was annoyed by the British Airways airline, which wiped up his luggage.

Darts referee Kirk Bevins has been a passionate rail driver for many years. The Englishman also likes to get on the train to get from A to B during his stays in Germany. Last weekend, however, he experienced the typical rail chaos that you are used to in this country.

What happened? Bevins actually only wanted to go to Hamburg from the Baltic Sea Darts Open in Kiel to get his flight to England there. In advance, he planned a sufficient cushion for his surrounding stairs so as not to miss a connection train. But his plan failed, as he explained in a Tikok video.

Darts referee experiences rail chaos: “Wish me luck!”

“The train in Kiel was supposed to start at 7:42 a.m.. I was there 25 minutes earlier. Then the shock: The train was painted. I thought: Great, that ruins my plan,” said the referee, who then sat on a different train towards Hamburg.

The problem: This train arrived in Hamburg 17 minutes late. So Bevin missed his connection to Wittenberge. “The train left Kiel on time and then came to a standstill in front of Hamburg for 25 minutes. Now I missed my train. People in Germany know that this is not uncommon. It continues to happen. And I thought I was filming a few videos about it,” said the PDC referee with a tortured smile.

His video ended Bevins with words that many train drivers pronounced before a trip: “I wish me luck!”

James Wade complains of “shocking customer service”

Meanwhile, James Wade was anger of the other variety on his way back to England. His luggage at the airport had already been lost on the way to Kiel. Until the end of the Baltic Sea Darts Open, he stood there without a suitcase. When he landed in Heathrow, he was informed that his suitcase had never left London Airport.

British Airways could not give him the luggage directly. “You said I have to wait for you to deliver my luggage home,” emphasized “The Machine”. He was not given a time frame for the delivery.

“You can imagine that this is not the ideal preparation for one of the biggest tournaments of the year,” said Wade in view of the start of the World Matchplay in Blackpool, which begins on Friday. British Airways has an “absolutely shocking customer service”, the darts star was annoyed.
