A dog from the Cane Corso race is not allowed back to his owner in Zuidlaren. The Council of State has determined that. The dog is guilty of several bite incidents in the village.
The owner had brought a lawsuit against the mayor to get his dog BO back.
The dog, which can be 50 kilos, bit a six -year -old girl. That was on February 21, 2021. The dog ran after the child from the garden and put his teeth in her leg.
The owner took the dog again, but then the animal escaped again and the girl attacked for the second time. The mayor then imposed a leash and muzzle commandment. A while later the police saw that the dog was exhausted without muzzle, the animal was eventually seized.
“As long as I am in charge, my dog will not get a muzzle,” the owner told the police. But the highest judge thinks the seizure is right. The dog is now being deployed on a business park for security.
The two bite incidents with the child were the drop for the mayor. Bo had already attacked a woman shortly before. She could barely hold the beast with her bike as a shield. A man would also have been bitten. However, he did not dare to make an explanation out of fear hassle with the owner.
The Council of State finds the mayor’s decision to seize the dog. The highest administrative court also believes that the mayor could include the behavior of the owner of the dog in this decision.
The man avoided conversations with local residents and victims. The man maintains that Bo is not aggressive. However, researchers from Utrecht University come to a completely different picture. Especially with children and small dogs, watching is blown, the researchers conclude.
