In Steur’s new contract, an option is also included for an extra year. Next season, the defender will not go to the Eredivisie with FC Volendam, but will be rented to IJsselmeervogels. The current leader in the third division is heading for the championship, so that Steur will most likely be in the Second Division next season.
Little playing time
Technical director Patrick Busby tells on the FC Volendam website about Steur’s contract extension: “Daan has learned a lot this season, but played little. The chance of playing time does not increase in the Eredivisie and that is why we have decided to extend Daan, but to rent it directly to IJsselmeervogels.”
