It was near the Blanklaarstraat in Lummen that a van collided with the cyclist.
The 88-year-old man from Lummen was taken to hospital and died of his injuries. A traffic expert came to the scene to investigate the exact circumstances of the accident.
The Limburg Regional Capital Police is conducting further investigations.
