Road bike world champion Tadej Pogacar won the Dauphiné tour for the first time. The 26 -year -old Slovenian prevailed on Sunday (June 15, 200) with a lead of almost a minute in front of his Danish adversary Jonas Vingegaard and thus mastered the dress rehearsal for the Tour de France, which begins on July 5 in Lille.
Pogacar triumphed at the Dauphiné at three of the eight stages. He is only the third cycling professional after the Frenchman Louison Bobet (1955) and Bernard Hinault (1981), who also won the Dauphiné as the world champion.

Lipowitz becomes third
Third place in the overall ranking was the German professional Florian Lipowitz, who also ended the royal stage of the race in third place behind Pogacar and Vingegaard on Saturday. Lipowitz, who secured the white jersey of the best young professional, is becoming the focus less and more than three weeks before the start of the Tour de France.
The 24-year-old from the Team Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe left an excellent impression on the three mountain stages at the end of the tour. “When I came here, I would never have expected that I can ride so far in front”, said Lipowitz.
On Sunday, too, he only lost a few seconds to the Belgian Remco Evenepoel on the 133.3 kilometers from Val-d’Arc to Val-Cenis and left it significantly in the overall classification.
The last day of the day on the 133.3 kilometers from Val-d’Arc to Val-Cenis secured the Frenchman Lenny Martinez. Vingegaard and Pogacar took the ranks two and three.
