Tickets for the AZ cup final were sold out within one day, but misjuditers pay attention: the match against Go Ahead Eagles can also be followed on April 21 on a large screen in the city. The permit for the joint viewing event at the Paardenmarkt is round, says organizer Robert-Jan Wille. “Super cool that we can do this for Alkmaarders, so it is a bit of a home game.”
AZ will be in the club history in the final of the Toto KNVB cup for the eighth time on Monday 21 April. The club from Alkmaar plays against Go Ahead Eagles in the Rotterdam Kuip.
During the cup match between AZ and Feyenoord, which was also broadcast on the same square in 2018, there were long lines at the entrance of the tent. Because all tickets for AZ fans were sold out within a day, organizer Robert-Jan Wille again expects a large mass of people on the horse market.
‘Come on time’
He therefore warns that he will be on time. “The walk -in is from 3 p.m. in the afternoon. We still have to coordinate the maximum number of visitors with the municipality, but full is full.”

The event is free and also minors are welcome, provided that an adult is accompanied. “We are organizing it for all fans – young and old – who cannot go to De Kuip. There is also a singer and a DJ, so it will be very cozy. We have enough security to steer it all in the right direction,” Wilt promises.
Now win
The organizer hopes that it will be at least such a success as in 2018, during the cup final with Feyenoord. “The only thing that was disappointing was the result, because we lost. We are going to do it differently now.”
