Why is the cup final on Easter Monday?
In recent years, the KNVB has programmed the final on Sunday evening. Because matches were played in the Europa League and the Conference League last Thursday, the football association chose to move the final to Monday, Easter Monday. Also a day off, so that supporters have the opportunity to follow the game in the stadium or at home. If one of the cup finalists was still European, the players had an extra day of rest.
