The documentary Louis about national coach Louis van Gaal has achieved the status of Crystal Film. This means that the film by maker Geertjan Lassche has been seen in the cinema by more than 10,000 people. The documentary premiered last Thursday.
Van Gaal was followed for three years for the film by Lassche, who previously made the documentary Brommers kiek’n and the TV program Break Free. In Louis, the 70-year-old coach looks back on his eventful life together with national and international football stars, his wife and daughters.
Louis is the second Dutch documentary to be awarded a Crystal Film Award this year. In March, the documentary Silence of the Tides by Pieter-Rim de Kroon about the Wadden area was given the same status.
