The overall leader Frida Karlsson has to compete with the Finn Krista Pärmäkoski, Rosie Brennan from the USA and the recently outstanding Nadine Fähndrich from Switzerland. one or the other big name could be left behind. Only the first two of each run make it safely into the semifinals, the other two fastest move on.

Kalvaa has to get out

Third-placed Anne Kjersti Kalvaa is not there today. After a positive corona test, the Norwegian had to leave the tour.

Unterweger represents Austria

Of the two Austrians who started, only one made it to the final. Lisa Unterweger was just about able to make it into the top 30 in 29th place. Teresa Stadlober needed a good second more for the 1.2 kilometers and missed the final in 33rd place.

Fähndrich wants the next victory

Once again, Swiss hopes rest on Nadine Fähndrich. The 27-year-old doesn’t play a role in the overall ranking of the Tour de Ski, but was the outstanding sprinter in the World Cup recently. Fähndrich won all of the last three sprints. In qualifying in the morning she took it easy and came in 14th.

Hennig doing well, Gimmler surprised

As the best non-Scandinavian, Germany’s top runner Katharina Hennig is currently in seventh place, two and a half minutes behind Karlsson. The sprint is not the Olympic champion’s favorite discipline, but Hennig made people sit up and take notice with a strong third place in the prologue. Laura Gimmler was even stronger in the morning, completing the course as the fastest and causing a huge surprise. Pia Fink also reached the final of the top 30 in 21st place, only Lisa Lohmann (32nd) just failed.

12:01

Karlsson has victory in mind

After the four stages in Münstertal and in Oberstdorf, Swede Frida Karlsson leads the overall ranking. With a lead of almost a minute and a half on her first pursuer Tiril Udnes Weng from Norway, Karlsson already has the overall victory in sight. Especially since the Swede is also considered a good sprinter and is one of the favorites today. Behind Weng and her compatriot Anne Kjersti Kalvaa are the Finns Krista Pärmäkoski and Kertuu Niskanen and the next Norwegian Lotta Udnes Weng.
