The president of the International Olympic Committee, who received the Giulio Onesti award today, spoke very positively about the efforts made to organize the Winter Olympics
Today is a special day for Kirsty Coventry. Welcomed by the speeches of the president of the Coni Luciano Buonfiglio (who gave her a beautiful photo of her world victory in Rome 2009) and the honorary president of the Giulio Onesti Foundation Franco Carraro, Coventry received her recognition: “This is a very special day for me, I reassured Mattarella by guaranteeing him that we will do our best to continue the excellent work that the Milano Cortina Foundation has done so far up to the Games. This award touches my heart, Italy and Rome have a special place in my heart. I am very happy for this Olympics which will also bring out all the Italian passion and I congratulate Italy and CONI for this important structure that hosts us today and which gives great support to the athletes”.
