The Swiss Suter, who was third in the downhill the day before, had taken the lead with starting number 13 and a courageous run. For Kira Weidle, the race didn’t go quite so smoothly, but twelfth place with a deficit of just under a second wasn’t a drama either. Emma Aicher finished 21st, 1.22 seconds behind Suter.
While the men complete their first run in the giant slalom, the women race down the slope in the Super-G. From 2.10 p.m. the biathlon women start in the mass start.
