Oliebollen, chicken crisps, fresh fries and potato croquettes … your frying pan has probably turned over hours for the last two weeks. Time to replace the frying oil and shortcuts. And yes, we know, that’s not the best job.

Ho stop! Before you throw the frying oil used in the waste bin (or even worse: in the toilet) (because you want to get rid of it very quickly!) It is a much better idea to hand in the fats used. This way your used oil is neatly processed into biofuels and someone else can earn something nice from it.

What should I do

Very simple. Always store the empty bottle of frying oil or sunflower oil. You can use it nicely to pour your used and cooled oil and fat. You may need a funnel, but usually you can pour it in the wide opening of the plastic bottle.

This happens with the handed in oil and fat

The containers with the oil and fat used are collected at the delivery points. Biofuel can be made from used frying fat and baking oil. This gives the oils and fats a second life and the raw materials stay in our cycle for as long as possible.

Reward

The collection points receive compensation for the collected fat. That yield can be used nicely for the Sportclub greenhouse or for charity such as the Zoetermeer campaign ‘Help Noud on an assistance dog.’
