COO Silvana Bonello leaves the company

Superdry Chief Operating Officer (COO) Silvana Bonello is leaving the company.

The farewell follows the announcement that the British clothing retailer is in negotiations for a planned capital increase. Superdry’s resignation was confirmed to FashionUnited after trade magazine Drapers reported it. “We can confirm that Silvana is leaving the company. We thank her for her contribution to Superdry and wish her all the best for the future.”

Bonello joined Superdry in 2021 and has played a key role in the company’s ongoing transformation strategy. Before joining Superdry, she spent two years at shoe brand Vans as Vice President of Planning and Operations. Before that, she worked for the sports goods company Nike for 18 years, most recently as Marketplace Operations Director.

Her departure comes amid a significant period of change at Superdry, which has been on a turnaround strategy in recent years, which has been impacted by the pandemic.

Superdry is seeking additional funding

On Tuesday, Superdry confirmed media speculation that the company was in talks with investors to secure new funding.

The brand said it was “in positive discussions with institutional and other investors” about a possible capital increase of up to twenty percent. CEO Julian Dunkerton intends to make a “significant” contribution to the capital increase.
