The internet consultation of the adjusted draft decision in the Bill Strengthening of the Volkshuisvesting Region has started. The bill was already sent to the Chamber in February, where it will be treated soon. Parallel to this, the parties can respond to the underlying draft decree strengthening of the Housing Region that has been amended compared to the previous decision that was consulted in March 2024.
The adjusted decision states that two thirds of the new homes to be built in the Netherlands must be affordable for people with a medium and low income. 30% of the new construction social rental homes must be per region. In addition, in addition to informal care homes on their own yard, homes for the first -degree family members are also permit -free. Finally, the ‘Ladder for sustainable urbanization’ for housing is canceled, so that construction can be done faster outside built -up areas.
Respond
Interested parties can only respond to the adjusted parts of the draft decision. Responses to the other components are no longer considered because the entire draft decision was already in consultation in March 2024. The consultation runs until 1 May. The dome associations of governments and corporations have two weeks longer. Meetings are organized during the consultation period to discuss the changes.
Bill at the Lower House
The Bill Reinforcement Direction Volkshuisvesting ensures that governments can steer on how much, where and for whom they are going to build. The bill is for treatment for the House of Representatives. The plenary treatment thereof still has to be planned.
