Confusion over Bellingham agreement with Real Madrid

The poker around Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund is apparently on the home straight. The BVB shooting star is likely to be drawn to Real Madrid in the summer. But there are conflicting reports.

As the Spanish newspaper “Marca” reports, Real Madrid has won the poker for Jude Bellingham. Accordingly, an “in principle” has been reached between the Englishman and the royal, the negotiations are “almost complete”.

According to the report, the clubs Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool FC, which are also considered interested, are left empty-handed.

However, the Spanish sports newspaper “AS” later reported, citing “absolutely reliable” sources at Royal, that Real had denied an agreement.

The Madrilenians are interested in Bellingham, but assume that BVB will sell the footballer like Haaland to the highest bidder. An agreement is therefore rather unlikely and Real will under no circumstances participate in an outbidding competition. There is no official announcement from the club at first.

Officials from Real Madrid are said to have traveled to Dortmund last week to convince Bellingham to move to Spain.

The sale of Bellingham, which is actually tied until 2025, will probably bring 120 million euros into BVB’s coffers. The midfielder is said to have signed a long-term contract with Real until 2029. His annual income should then be up to 20 million euros.

BVB “surprised” by new Bellingham reports

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the “Marca” report on Twitter. Accordingly, a meeting with those responsible for BVB has already been planned to finalize the transfer modalities.

However, “Sport1” reports that BVB was “surprised” by the Bellingham message on Wednesday. The district club was not informed of the latest developments by the player himself or by Real Madrid. There is also no request yet.

Does BVB insist on selling this summer?

According to information from “Sport Bild”, BVB wants to make a decision as soon as possible in order to be able to react to the 19-year-old’s departure in the transfer summer and before the start of the new season. According to the sports magazine, there should not be a kind of ultimatum that other top stars had given in the past.

Borussia Dortmund should also be interested in selling their most valuable player in the squad this summer. A resale next year would probably bring in significantly less money for Dortmund than this summer.
