The police took action on Saturday afternoon with a heavily armed ‘support team’ after a report of a person with misunderstood behavior on De Fallastraat in Tilburg. It was not yet known at the beginning of the evening whether the man had been arrested. He may be transferred to a healthcare institution.

Around one o’clock on Saturday afternoon, the police were alerted about the situation in the Tilburg-Noord district. After arrival, a large part of the street was closed for hours.

Meanwhile, officers tried to contact the man. When he did not want to cooperate and a violent situation threatened, a team was called in to support the officers in De Fallastraat. They entered the house with brute force.

Doors and windows smashed
Windows were smashed at both the front and back of the house and a door was also forced open.

By about seven o’clock it was not yet clear how the man was doing and especially what would happen to him. When asked, a police spokesperson said that more will be known about this on Sunday.

Neighborhood at a distance
During the police action, local residents had to stay indoors. Many other local residents managed to experience what was going on up close.
