The US publisher Condé Nast, known for its fashion magazines such as Vogue, GQ and Vanity Fair, and Ebay are entering into a partnership for used clothing.
The US resale platform will become an “official pre-loved partner” of Condé Nast, eBay announced on Monday. The collaboration extends across the German, British and US markets and Condé Nast titles such as Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired, Architectural Digest, Teen Vogue and Glamour.
“By partnering with Condé Nast, we are actively shaping the future of circularity in fashion,” said Alexis Hoopes, Global Vice President of Fashion at eBay. “By combining Condé Nast’s formative influence on the fashion world with eBay’s curated offering and trusted platform, we are putting pre-loved fashion at the center of the fashion discourse – as consumer-conscious and desirable at the same time.”
With the cooperation, the partners are building on several projects that they have already implemented. They worked together for events such as the Met Gala, Vogue World events in Paris, Hollywood and London, among others. The first Vogue Vintage Market was also part of the eBay cooperation to showcase used clothing.
The partnership will now be expanded to include additional events and across all Condé Nast platforms. Topics such as conscious consumption and trustworthy resale should also play a role.
“This collaboration reflects our shared vision to encourage a new generation to embrace vintage and pre-loved as an expression of their personal style,” said Doug Grinspan, Chief Business Officer, US Sales & Global Key Accounts at Condé Nast. “Together, we tell inspiring stories that celebrate fashion’s rich history – while inviting our communities to discover and buy verified treasures on eBay.”
