Concrete funnel caused a mega traffic jam on the A27 near Hank

An accident on the A27 near Hank caused enormous delays in both directions on Monday morning. The left lane in the direction of Breda was closed. A van lost its trailer with a concrete pouring hopper on it and the concrete hopper ended up on the road. A heavy tow truck had to be involved to clear the road. The road was open again around a quarter to ten.

Around eight o’clock the delay between Noordeloos and Hank increased to an hour and a half. That was still the case an hour and a half later. Until everything was cleared, traffic could detour via Den Bosch (A15, A2).

Around a quarter past nine, Rijkswaterstaat (RWS) announced that the salvage work was almost complete. There was still some mess to clean up. RWS then expected to be able to open the road quickly. That was indeed the case a little later. The damage to the guardrail still needs to be repaired on Monday evening.

From Breda in the direction of Gorinchem, the A27 has also been stuck on the A27 since a quarter past eight. Between Geertruidenberg and the Merwedebrug you still had to take into account about eighty minutes of delay just before half past nine. It was a viewer traffic jam. When the A27 was free again in the other direction, the spectator traffic jam also decreased quickly.

Problems on the A50
If you wanted to go to Eindhoven from Oss, you would also have to deal with problems on the A50 during this Monday morning rush hour. Between Eerde and Son en Breugel you had to take into account a delay of forty minutes due to an accident.

Previous delay on A2
Previously, things were not going well on the A2 in the direction of Utrecht. An additional travel time of one hour had to be taken into account between the Veghel and Waardenburg exits in Gelderland at seven o’clock. The cause was an accident. One of the lanes was closed for a while due to recovery work.

Just after seven o’clock the road was open again and the extra travel time decreased noticeably. The biggest problems here were over around a quarter to eight.
