Biathlon hopeful Julia Tannheimer has to forego starting in the pursuit race at the World Cup in Le Grand-Bornand for health reasons.

As team doctor Katharina Blume explained, this was done out of caution after the 19-year-old had not been feeling well during the sprint the day before.

“In order not to take any risks, she will skip the pursuit today. During the course of the day we will decide whether taking part in tomorrow’s mass start makes sense from a medical point of view,” said the team doctor.

Young hopeful Tannheimer finished 53rd in the sprint after two shooting errors. “She’s a little tired,” women’s coach Sverre Olsbu Röiseland said afterwards.
