Joe Cullen is eliminated from the Darts World Cup against Mensur Suljovic. He then criticizes his opponent’s behavior on stage. This justifies itself.

Darts professional Joe Cullen attacked his competitor Mensur Suljovic harshly after his second round exit at the World Championship. “If this is darts, I don’t want anything to do with it,” the 36-year-old Englishman wrote on X after the 3-1 defeat on Sunday. “I always liked Mensur off the board, but it was obvious to everyone,” Cullen said.

“I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks that. The old guard will say it’s part of the game, but however you put it, it’s cheating. This isn’t darts.”

Cullen obviously disliked the Austrian’s behavior during the duel. Suljovic caused delays several times, took his time with his throws and let the audience celebrate for a long time instead of directly pulling his arrows from the target. He also gave Cullen a dismissive wave.

Suljovic was also officially warned during the game by caller Kirk Bevins. Darts fans also made a number of critical comments about his performance online.

The 53-year-old justified himself to his opponent at the press conference: “What’s his problem? He missed a few doubles. I never did anything bad,” said Suljovic.

“I like Joe, but I don’t know what he had. Maybe it was because I was cheering a little bit. But it wasn’t anything serious.” But he also admitted that he had made a mistake immediately before reprimanding the caller.
