So this title is the absolute minimum – and this season nothing more than a consolation plaster that cannot cover the whole wound. It is huge through the early end in the Champions League and in the cup. Bavaria acts in a playful manner in a playful manner, personally haphazard – and has a trainer who is more of a random product than a desired solution. Anyone who sells this as a success thinks like a club that no longer wants to know about the self-image as a top club.

What it takes now is clarity – and consequence. Company is not the man who leads Bavaria back to Europe’s top. Only one can do that: Xabi Alonso. The Leverkusen coach is the best coach of the league, more modern, clearer, further than Kompany. Bavaria has to do everything possible to get rid of it earlier. Otherwise the club stays where it is now: nationally upstairs, but internationally far.
