Commotion surrounding Jan-Willem van Schip’s disqualification, team files an appeal: ‘He has been driving this for three years’

Jan-Willem van Schip showed himself on Wednesday in the Tour of Holland by going on the attack, but the stage result showed a ‘DSQ’ after his name: disqualification. Van Schip, best known for track cycling with, among other things, a world title in the points race (2019) and the couples race (2023), is said to have used a bicycle that would not have been approved by the UCI.
