Antti Herlin is a guest on the Actually program on Yle.

Antti Herlin describes himself on TV as the black sheep of his family, mainly because of his poor school performance. Anne Hämäläinen, Yle

Kone’s main owner, Antti Herlin, 69, is one of the wealthiest people in Finland Juho-Pekka Rantalan as a guest In fact in the program series.

No topic is on the forbidden list, even if difficult topics do not lead to very lively discussions. Among other things, Antti Herlin’s father Pekka Herlin’s (1932–2003) bipolar disorder and alcoholism come to the fore.

Pekka Herlin’s updated testament of the mid-1990s is also discussed. He left the voting shares of the lift company Kone mostly to Antti.

– You received information about this matter, but apparently your father demanded absolute silence from you. The siblings were not allowed to be told. Is that how it went? Rantala asks on TV.

– Yeah. Mostly like this, yeah.

Over the years, the public has said a lot that the division of the father’s inheritance and especially the concealment of the will broke the relationship between the siblings. Herlin admits this briefly. Has the situation improved since then?

– Well, it’s probably been corrected to some extent, but what’s done can’t be left undone, Herlin points out.

Rantala also asks what his guest thinks about the series of events from today’s perspective.

– I probably would have acted differently then, but there’s no need to worry about it now.

And does Herlin himself intend to act differently when the next generation change at some point becomes relevant?

– I hope so. But on the other hand, some lessons have not been learned, Herlin shrugs his shoulders.

He means that each generation makes its own mistakes. The previous ones may not be repeated, but perhaps the previous ones will be repeated.

– You cannot go through life flawlessly.
