Comedian Viggo Waas ‘too soft’ for the head coach: “I miss the ascendancy”

Viggo Waas is a big football fan. He made it to Jong Ajax, but then became known as a comedian, actor and program maker. After he suffered a stroke last year, he will return to the theater next month with Peter Heerschop.

On the football field, the 60-year-old Amsterdammer is now the leader of Ajax Under 14s. He was a field trainer at WVHEDW and assistant to third divisionist De Dijk in 2018. He says he is ‘too soft’ for the head coach, as he says at the table of our football talk show De Aftrap.

“I have no doubts about the football gogme,” said Henk Fraser, FC Utrecht’s head coach this season. Fraser himself was an assistant to national coach Louis van Gaal until last season. When he chose FC Utrecht, he had to give up that job. Although very clearly communicated in advance, Fraser finds that a pity. “If I look at the World Cup later, it will definitely hurt.”
