Wagon women fight powerful IOC

Nathalie Armbruster is not only fighting for a medal at the World Championships, but also for the future of her sport and thus against the powerful IOC. “It goes against the grain for me and I’m fighting for the combination to be in the 20230 Olympics for both men and women“said the 17-year-old in the run-up to the World Cup.

Last June, the IOC decided against including the women’s combination in the Olympic program in Cortina. Reason: too few nations, too few different medal candidates, too few spectators. The decision-makers of the combinations have long since reacted, are working on new competitions that should make the combination more exciting and attractive.

First mixed competition at the World Championships

The world association FIS has not written off the sport. This also shows that there is a mixed competition at the World Championships for the first time. However, the IOC has the last word in this matter when it comes to the Olympics.
