The canvases eventually fell during my short vacation of this newspaper. I thought it was Arnhems: I know how many years I have told the reader in this place unsolicited about the Wergang van Vitesse, but all the misery clumped together during my absence. Vitesse first lost an appeal to the license committee (I hung in a cable car in Switzerland) and then went down hopeless in the courtroom. At the summary proceedings in Utrecht I was just to see it, to prevent confusion with Vitesse scarf.
The end came unexpectedly, but the aftermath was unpalient. First the normalities: tears, flowers and secret hope of eternal life. If there is already something beautiful then it is the massive hope of the resurrection, that Vitesse is an untreated shadow that would remain above Arnhem forever. Starting as high as possible with the amateurs.
Opposite that hope soon became the annoyances. The festivities at NEC in Nijmegen, active for years in the same industry. Especially there, in a city where they pretend to have a little more feeling. I had them higher, but the condolences I received from Nijmegen friends were full of obligatory apologies. They didn’t all think about it as much as the hard core, but from low to Marcel Boekhoorn, nobody felt like to say that in public: all afraid of the grit. A golden tip to save: if it ever becomes war to Nijmegen.

The other clubs sympathized. On his football: a pat on the back and at the same time with the other hand grabbing in the treasury of the youth education (ashamed your FC Twente) because they knew exactly what is going around there. The beautiful memories are shared in the media, but at the same time the new organization is already being held down by pieces fed by anonymous sources with an interest. Also annoying: the simple analyzes of so -called experts such as Robert Maaskant and Chris Woerts, who at least have not worn out with thinking. Or the comments from Willem Vissers van De Volkskrant and the editorial team of Fidelity Who will teach ‘us’ that it is good to get low with the amateurs to come back to ourselves. Consider eight years The Limburger work, or go in the case of Fidelity Again underground. And then there was also a reporter of NRC Who, after two questions, evacuated himself from the Korenmarkt as a precaution, he was taken care of and makes up for it.
There is only one thing certain: at least sixteen thousand people want to see Vitesse play football, or at least see a field walking up in a yellow-black shirt. It has never been so busy on the bottom of the well, all the ingredients for a feature film about a magical resurrection are now present.
