Cologne Sharks extend striker MacLeod

The eight-time German ice hockey champions Kölner Haie have extended the contract with striker Gregor MacLeod for a further two years. The Rhinelanders announced this on Christmas Day in the form of a 25th Advent calendar door.

The Canadian moved to the Haie from league rivals Nuremberg Ice Tigers for the current season. With seven goals and 22 assists, MacLeod is one of the top performers in the sixth place.

“We are very pleased that we were able to tie Gregor to us early on until 2026 and that he will continue to play for us in the coming years,” said Haie head coach Uwe Krupp: “Gregor has settled in with us this season without any start-up problems and how he has expected to quickly establish himself as a top performer in our team.”

MacLeod moved to Germany three years ago, where he lived for several years during his childhood. His father Jeff MacLeod is the current national coach of the German women’s team.
