The club announced after the 4-1 (1-0) win in the Bundesliga that there was “a medical operation in the VIP area of the east stand”: “The person was taken to the hospital in a critical condition using resuscitative measures.”
Shortly after the final whistle, stadium spokesman Michael Trippel pointed out the incident, but no further information was provided at the time. The fans of 1. FC Köln then interrupted their celebration of their fourth league win this season.
