Football second division 1. FC Köln asserted the lead again with a short home win and rehabilitated the bitter trophy at Double winner Bayer Leverkusen during the week.
At 1-0 (1-0) against Schalke 04 in the sold-out Rheinenergie Stadium, the club once more demonstrated the newly won maturity and scored the next three points with little spectacle.
Damion Downs (14th) put the billy goats in the lead after a hair -raising mistake by the birthday child Mehmet Aydin. The right -back wanted to drain a flank with his chest to keeper Justin Heekeren, but had made the bill without the lintel linton Maina.
