THEIn Galleria Patricia Armocida in Milan presents Double single usefirst personal exhibition of photographs by Lorenzo Urciullo, aka Colapesce. A selection of 200 shots enclosed in three nuclei: Dusacronym for the title, which, as the artist says, is a private chronicle that documents his solitude in space, a cataloging of furnishings and objects inside the hotel rooms where he stayed during the travels of his career; the second series, Teresa and Annagrandmother and the harm of Lorenzo, documents the symbiotic relationship between two sisters; Exhausted daysseries linked to Sicily, to the paradoxes of his land and the artist’s introspective visions.
The shots, in 20 × 20 cm format – the same as the cementins, the tiles of the typical Sicilian flooring – and 10 × 10 cm, are a memorable summary of visual annotations that lead the visitor in the secret and intimate world of Colapesce. A long time sequence of over ten years, an iconic selection taken from more than 1800 photographs of his personal archive.
Colapesce himself wanted to tell us about the exhibition.
