The KNMI has given a code yellow due to dense fog. In Drenthe, visibility can drop to less than 200 meters, locally even less than 50 meters. The warning also applies to the provinces of Groningen and Friesland.
According to Buienradar’s fog radar, visibility in the north of Drenthe is now about 115 meters. Those who take to the road are advised to keep more distance and reduce speed where necessary.
Earlier today, Groningen Airport Eelde announced that air traffic was halted due to fog. This meant that the helicopters of the Mobile Medical Team (MMT) could not get into the air. A spokesperson for the MMT reports that tonight, each call will be examined to determine whether the helicopter can be deployed safely.
