The drone should save the Coast Guard time. “The drone can immediately go to the scene of an incident, which allows a better assessment of which resources are suitable for response,” says skeyes spokesperson Kurt Verwilligen.
Thanks to a project by the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA), MDK was able to use a drone for rescue exercises last summer. “That went well. Now the next step follows,” says MDK spokesperson Dries Derudder.
